Apple has today made iOS 15.4 available for developers to download ahead of what will likely be a release to those on the public beta program tomorrow — if not later today.
The iOS 15.4 beta 5 release brings us ever closer to a final release that will be made available to the public, although no concrete information on exactly when that will be has been made available yet.
Developers who have the correct beta profile installed can download the new update now, using the Settings app on their iPhone and iPad. Those who would prefer to download the IPSW file manually can find it on the Apple developer website, too.
This particular update is one that brings some improved functionality to the masses, not least the ability to use Face ID when wearing a mask. That feature will work when using Apple Pay and unlocking apps, making the change a huge one for people wearing masks in shops.
This update will also include support for Universal Control on iPad, so long as people also update to macOS 12.3 on their Mac, too. Apple’s iPadOS 15.4 beta is also available for download now, too.
It’s still too early to tell if this particular beta release has any surprises in store but we’ll be checking things ourselves shortly. If you see something do make sure to shout out in the comments or on social media to let us know!
