Apple today seeded a ton of new betas to developers, with iOS 15.1 and iPadOS 15.1 beta 3 now in the hands of those who want to install them on their test devices.
While it isn’t immediately clear what has changed in the new betas at the time of writing, the releases do come a couple of weeks after iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 were released to the public and just a few days after iOS 15.0.1 was released.
That update fixed a bug that caused iPhone 13 handsets to be unable to be unlocked by Apple Watches, a fix that was also in the iOS 15.1 beta.
These iOS 15.1 and iPadOS 15.1 betas do also include support for SharePlay, a feature that was supposed to be ready for the big iOS 15 release a couple of weeks ago but was canned at the last minute. The feature will allow people to watch TV, listen to music, and more with other people who are also using Apple devices.
There’s no telling when Apple will make iOS 15.1 and iPadOS 15.1 available to the public, although it’s unlikely that we will have to wait too much longer.
Apple doesn’t normally release too many betas unless it’s a big update — something iOS 15.1 and iPadOS 15.1 won’t be, in the grand scheme of things.
