It isn’t unheard of for Apple products to appear in regulatory databases before they are officially announced and it looks like that might have happened once more.
Three new Macs have appeared in the Eurasian Economic Commission database carrying model numbers that don’t yet exist.
First spotted by Consomac, the product numbers A2615, A2686, and A2681 have all been added to the database. The database houses products that use encryption which covers all of Apple’s devices — and it’s been known to out products before. Just recently the same database saw new iPads and iPhones added, likely to preempt new iPad Air and iPhone SE announcements.
Apple is expected to announce a new MacBook Air, Mac mini, and iMac within the next few months with Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman suggesting that a spring event could come as soon as next month — March 8, to be exact. If that’s correct it would make sense that these new products would be announced during that event.
If all of this pans out that would mean three new Macs, new iPad Air, and a 5G iPhone SE announcements are coming within the next four weeks and that’s just the start.
Refreshes of other Apple products are expected this year alongside a potential unveiling of a whole new product category in the form of a mixed reality headset.
