The Biggest Games Of November 2022 - God Of War, Pokemon, And More

Just when you thought it was safe to put the controller down, November has rolled around and is ready to party. The penultimate month of the year is fielding some of the biggest games around, ranging from blockbuster adventures on PlayStation 5 to curious indie games headlined by serious talent on Xbox Series X|S. In addition to those games, there's also Nintendo with a new mainline entry in the Pokemon series, the return of the Monday-hating Heathcliff clone Garfield, and a bold new direction for the Sonic franchise.

We've rounded up the biggest video game releases for November 2022. It could prove to be a painful month for your wallet.

The Entropy Centre (November 3)

Feel like a puzzle game but with guns? Then you might want to check out The Entropy Centre, a mind-bending puzzle adventure where you manipulate the flow of time and reverse its course so that you can solve puzzles. Set inside of a colossal space station orbiting the planet, the only way to the center of this structure is through a series of cryptic challenges that require you to rewind time at gunpoint.

It Takes Two for Nintendo Switch (November 4)

One of the best games of 2021 is making its way to the Nintendo Switch, so if you're in the mood for tight platforming, ingenious co-op gameplay, and a touching story about a relationship in jeopardy, grab a friend for this masterpiece from Hazelight Studio.

A Little to the Left (November 8)

We've all got that one friend who strives to maintain order in their lives, and this might just be the best (or worst) game that you can gift them. A Little to the Left is all about neatly sorting, stacking, and organizing everyday items into satisfying piles. But you'll have to watch out for a mischievous cat who'll mess things up. It's a handcrafted puzzle game, and with more than 75 of these cluttered conundrums to sort through, it'll keep you busy for a while as you restore order to your digital life.

Sonic Frontiers (November 8)

It has been a number of years since a genre-defining Sonic game has raced onto the scene, and Sega is aiming to blaze a new path forward for its icon in Sonic Frontiers. Trapped on a mysterious chain of islands, Sonic will need to find a way out of this predicament and past the robot guardians of the land. Grow your skills, solve some puzzles, and feel the need for speed in this open-world adventure that offers plenty of ground for you to blitz through.

Football Manager 2023 (November 8)

EA may have blown the final whistle on its FIFA series this year, but for a more detailed and in-depth dive into the world of soccer, you can't beat the Football Manager series. This year's iteration features revamped scouting and recruitment meetings, a closer relationship with agents and brand-new squad planning tools amongst several other tweaks as you work to outsmart your competition and build the best possible team.

God of War: Ragnarok (November 9)

Its been four years since Kratos made his grand return to PlayStation in 2018's God of War. In the sequel to that emotional and memorable Nordic adventure, the dad of Boy is about to introduce a pantheon of famous gods to the edge of his ax. Like other PlayStation games, expect refinement, open-world majesty, and plenty of visual options to fine-tune your experience in a quest that looks set to be a brutal and powerful explosion of power starring the best dad in video games.

Tactics Ogre: Reborn (November 11)

An overhauled version of the original Tactics Ogre game, this spruced-up edition packs improved graphics, fine-tuned sound, and updated game design into a package that looks to retain the core charm of the original title. One for fans of tactical-RPGs, Tactics Ogre: Reborn is a grand and sweeping tale of civil war and battles that will alter the destiny of an entire nation.

Pentiment (November 15)

While Microsoft has a lot on its plate with its collection of first-party studios, few people were expecting a historical mystery narrative-driven game from Obsidian Entertainment. Playing as an illustrator caught in the middle of a murder mystery, you'll need to use your wits to expose the killers and deal with the ramifications of your decisions as this story unfolds and reveals a greater conspiracy at work within the walls of Kiersau Abbey.

Floodland (November 15)

In Floodland, climate change has arrived to wreck human habitats and reduce society to a collective of warring clans. Left to pick up the pieces, you'll need to explore, scavenge, and eventually build a city with the limited resources that you gather. Sounds easy, but with a collision of various cultures and some very hard choices to make, you'll need to ensure the survival of your new society as you evolve it through new laws and doctrines.

Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 (November 16)

After more than two years of action, Call of Duty: Warzone is retiring from the frontlines as a new reinforcement enters the scene. An overhaul of the successful Call of Duty battle royale, this free-to-play game features a brand-new map, new circle mechanics, and a more complex Gulag system for earning a second chance to return to the battlefield. The biggest addition to the sequel is easily the Ricochet anti-cheat server protections, an updated system for keeping cheaters out of the game after they ruined one too many sessions in the original Warzone.

Goat Simulator 3 (November 17)

Goat Simulator 2? Never heard of it. What we have heard about though is Goat Simulator 3, a sequel to the original game that continues a path of mayhem with a sandbox where you can do whatever floats your goat. Cause a traffic jam, triple-jump across the island of San Angora, and join some friends for co-op chaos across a number of challenges. Just remember to always disrespect your surroundings.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet (November 18)

Whenever a new mainline Pokemon entry is announced, it's a cause for celebration. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will continue what Pokemon Legends: Arceus started by moving into an open-world layout, but these entries will adhere to the core formula that fans have adored for decades. Expect plenty of new Pokemon, some interesting gameplay mechanics, and a grand journey across a new region inspired by the sun-blessed lands of Spain.

Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales (November 18)

Marvel's Spider-Man on PC was a rock-solid port from PlayStation consoles when it first landed a few months ago, and just in time for the festive season, there's the web-slinging Christmas story of Miles Morales to look forward to. Shorter but no less captivating, Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales tells an excellent story while retaining the awesome action gameplay seen in the first outing.

The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil in Me (November 18)

Halloween season may be over, but there's still room for some horror dessert in this latest chapter of The Dark Pictures Anthology. Head on down to the infamous Murder Castle, try not to get offed by a serial killer lurking in the shadows, and prepare for some grisly deaths in the latest entry in the Dark Pictures series.

Evil West (November 22)

Fancy slapping leather and filling your hand with iron while ridding the land of vampiric monsters? Then Evil West might satiate that need for cowboy-themed action and wanton destruction of supernatural forces. With Shadow Warrior developer Flying Wild Hog leading development, Evil West looks set to offer satisfying action across a dangerous frontier.

Gungrave G.O.R.E (November 22)

A return to the cult-classic action of the 2004 game, Gungrave G.O.R.E casts you as a gun-wielding badass anti-hero who is tasked with taking out entire armies of enemies. Fire an absurd amount of bullets in this stylish third-person action shooter that updates the original game for the current generation of gaming.

World of Warcraft: Dragonflight (November 28)

Almost two decades after it first launched, World of Warcraft is still a mainstay on the MMORPG scene thanks to regular expansions that drop new content into the world of Azeroth. Dragonflight, the ninth WoW expansion, continues that tradition by adding a new playable race, the new Evoker class, customizable dragon mounts, and more when it launches on November 28.

Warhammer 40,000: Darktide (November 30)

The grimdark universe of Warhammer 40K is always at its best when you're facing a horde of nightmare space-monsters with friends, and Darktide fills that requirement with its co-op campaign. From the studio behind the celebrated Vermintide series, Darktide tasks you and up to three friends with the safety of the Imperium. The action is brutal, the enemies vastly outnumber you, and you'll be armed to the teeth with skill and firepower as you take on the forces of Chaos.

Garfield Lasagna Party (November 30)

In a month that features Pokemon, God of War, and Warzone 2, it's going to be hard to stand out from the AAA pack. Garfield Lasagna Party probably won't be responsible for any sleepless nights at Activision or Nintendo, but if you're a fan of the orange cat and want to take him through 30+ minigames alongside some friends in co-op, at least your highly specific request will be answered this month.

Front Mission 1st: Remake (November TBC)

November is a big month for remakes, and you can add this new version of Front Mission to the pile when it lands on Switch. Dozens of characters, big beefy mechanized combat, and a grand conspiracy all come together in this stylish remake of a cult-classic. It's the first return to that universe since 2019's disastrous Left Alive lumbered onto the scene like a malfunctioning Wanzer.
